Why Do Network Marketing? The Benefits Explained

Ok, after understanding what is network marketing, you want to know why you should be doing it. What’s the catch? You will probably ask. There are many other companies that offer great compensation plans as well, why join a network marketing company?

Becoming a member in a network marketing company requires you to either purchase its products or services, pay monthly membership fee, or maybe meet certain sales target per month. Here’s one of the disadvantage of joining a network marketing company.

Alright, there are other companies out there that do offers you to join them for free and just promote for them. You have to know that in that scenario, you will either earn lesser commission, lose out the ability to leverage on your sales force or something that makes you different than regular member.

Rather than going into explaining the benefits of joining a network marketing company, I will like to list down some of the disadvantages first. In this way, you can get a clearer picture of it.

Firstly, your efforts may not pay. What do I mean by that? You made all the phone calls, did pretty good presentations, purchased some of the products and even tried them out personally. But you just can’t make a single sale. Most of the network marketing companies are commission based, meaning that you only make money when you make a sale. Yes, that sounds pretty bad.

Secondly, your up-line, sponsor or the person who bring you into this business may not be teaching you the right stuff. Imagine your direct up-line coaches you personally, tells you that achieving goals is more important than spending time with your family, it’s time to step back and look at what you’ve done. And what if your sponsor is money-minded and keeps pushing the team to make more sales, that’s really bad, right?

Thirdly, it’s a real business. If you’ve decided that the business that you want to work with is truly what you are looking for and have made some sort of spending, make it a real business. Don’t treat it like a hobby which you will spend time working on it only when you feel like it. It’s real, you need to be always in the action, get seen, get heard, get busy.

You need to sacrifice some of your time to work on it, that includes your TV, hobbies, family, play. Just some of it, not all of it, unless you’ve fallen in love with work, that’s different. Until when your residual income kicks in, yes, you can spend more time with your family and do what you love to do before.

You need self discipline, self motivation. Your sponsor can teach you stuff but he is not you. He don’t know what’s your goals, dreams and why you are doing network marketing. Work with him so that you can create a stronger force. Sometimes, all we need is a kick in the butt to get us working.

Finally, it all comes down to one thing, you can’t make excuses and money at the same time. If you are not making money and it’s really no faults of others but yourself, think again, to quit or to persist on? That depends on you.

Here are the benefits of network marketing, probably you’ve heard them n times:

1. Work at your own free time. Using your free time like weekends, you will be able to create an additional income for yourself. But don’t quit for full time job if you are new to this. I don’t recommend people to quit their job immediately because I don’t think they will be able to persist for that long. So keep the income coming in, so that even if network marketing isn’t suitable for you at that point of time, you are not broke.

2. Creating residual income through leverage. What is residual income? It basically means that having income coming in continuously for an one time effort. That’s why business owners can do things at their own free time because they fix their own schedule! Do you want to have 100 people to sell 1 bottle of Coke each or you selling 100 bottles of Coke yourself?

3. Financial stability. I don’t like to use the word financial freedom. I think that ‘freedom’ is a strong word to use. What financial stability means to me is that you are able to spend on what is necessary without the worry of not being able to afford it. What is necessary to me doesn’t mean what is necessary for you as well. I think, having a house, a car, a dog, family and children. They don’t have to be the largest in the world but at least comfortable enough for the whole family.

And I don’t have to worry about medical bills, education cost for my children and my retirement. All these, I will think that it will be financially secured. Being financially free, to me, it means having your own island, able to collect a handful of vintage cars, money is almost nothing. So yeah, network marketing allows you to be financially secured.

4. Creating the first pot of gold. I will like to share with you a short story. We all need to create 3 pots of gold in our life and make them work for us in order to be financially free. The first pot of gold is called residual income, once you have that, you can transfer part of it to a second pot of it called stocks & shares. Finally when you have so much of it from the first two pots, you can put some of them into the last pot, properties and capital assets. Network marketing will allow you to create residual income, you will need to create your first pot of gold. Of course, you can achieve it by doing traditional business as well which leads me to the last point.

5. Low capital and low risk to start up. Compared to a traditional business, network marketing provides a lower barrier of entry. You can start off the business the first day if you wish to. But traditional business, you have to work out with banks for a loan, find partners, borrow money from family and friends, etc. But for network marketing, even if you’ve failed, so what? It’s only a small sum of money and time wasted.

Besides all these, you will be able to create wonderful relationships with people, build up your confidence, becoming eloquent, etc. You will know what I mean.
